Explore the stunning landscapes and rich culture of the High Atlas Mountains on this immersive 4-day trek. Journey through citadel villages that seem to have been plucked from the Middle Ages. It is nestled amidst terraced farmlands and towering peaks reaching up to 4000 meters. In general, this adventure focuses on discovering Berber culture, sharing daily life with locals, while experiencing authentic Moroccan hospitality in remote mountain villages.

Day 1: Marrakech to Aguerssioual Village – The Berber Way

Welcome to your High Atlas adventure! We’ll pick you up from Marrakech and transfer you to the quaint village of Aguerssioual, located at 1630 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. This marks the start of a 2-hour trek to Matate Village. Finally, accompanied by our mules and Berber muleteers, we’ll traverse a small valley and winding switchback mule tracks westward to reach Matate Village. After hike, you’ll spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse. At dinner, enjoying a delicious meal prepared by the locals.

Day 2: Matate Valley to Tizi Oussem Village – Summits and Vistas

Today’s hike takes us from Matate Valley to Azzaden Valley through a picturesque forest of pine trees. We’ll pause at the top to take in the stunning mountain scenery and the remarkable high summit vistas. Next, we will find the perfect spot for a Moroccan-style picnic lunch. After lunch, we’ll descend the valley along winding mule tracks to the unique village of Tizi Oussem. We’ll spend night here.

Day 3: Tizi Oussem to Tizi Mzik to Aremd Village – More Breathtaking Vistas

In this morning, we will begin the day with a 2-hour acclimatization hike. First, we will be hiking westward along switchback mule tracks to Tizi Mzik, sitting which is about 2350 meters in height. After a lunch break, we will be enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Soon, we’ll continue with a leisurely 2-hour hike southwest along mule tracks to Aremd Village. This is the highest village in the Ait Mizane Valley. At night, you will enjoy nice dinner and an overnight stay at a guesthouse which is facing the towering Toubkal Mountain range, North Africa’s highest summit.

Day 4: Aremd to Tidli Plateau to Imlil – Rural and Authentic Hospitality

On our final day, we cross the Ait Mizane Valley, passing through the terraced fields of Aremd Village. Along the way, you’ll see herds of goats navigating the precarious mountain trails. Next, we’ll trek down towards Imlil, situated at 1710 meters. Here, we will enjoy lunch break just outside of the village. Upon arrival in Imlil, you’ll have the chance to rest and relax in a luxurious mountain riad. Now, is time to enjoy reflecting your unforgettable experiences of the past four days.
